The 2017 Summary & Commendation Congress of Shenghong Petrochemical Group Grandly Held
On the afternoon of January 20th, the 2017 Summary Commendation Congress & Spring Celebrating Party of Shenghong Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. was held in Mount Huaguo International Hotel. Chairman Miao Hangen and principal directors of and advanced representatives from the subsidiary companies &departments of Shenghong, altogether around 330 people, attended the meeting. The meeting summed up the achievements made by the Shenghong Petrochemical Group in the last year and made plans for the work of the company in the next year. Chiarman Miao Hangen made an important speech titled “To Build Brand, Ensure Quality, Improve Management---Work Together to Start a New Development Journey of Shenghong Petrochemical Group in the New Era”. He expressed that in the last year, with the state economy shifting from high-speed increasement development phase to high quality development phase, the company achieved great achievements with firmly establishing and resolutely implementing the five major development concepts of "innovation, coordination, environmental protection, openness and sharing" .
“The Demand of the Times, the Mission of the State”. Chairman Miao Hangen pointed out that the next three years would be a critical period for our nation to conduct the transformation and upgrading of petrochemical industry and become a leading manufacturing country and that the development of Shenghong Petrochemical Group was the request of the new times and that it shouldered the mission of the nation. He also pointed out that with the complete completion of the distribution of Shenghong petrochemical industry, it was planned that Shenghong would be made into an internationally first-class petrochemical industry group and lead the domestic petrochemical industry to win a place in the world.
“Preparedness ensures success while unpreparedness spells failure”. Chairman Miao Hangen warned the management layer that they should be vigilant and have a firm determination to prevent and solve the common failings in the development process of a large enterprise like the problems of corruption, obstruction of information, confusion of responsibilities, rigidness of mechanisms and etc.. “The one trying to wear the crown must bear its weight”. Chairman Miao Hangen hoped that all people in the management layer could have an explicit idea about their respective responsibility and be responsible for their work and that they could pay attention both to benefit and security at work.
“New times puts forward new requests and only with high quality can a big future be won”. In the new year, Chairman Miao Hangen put forward "new" requirements for Shenghong Petrochemical Group:
“ 1. Spirit of ‘perseverence’---attaching importance to quality and quantity and pushing the entity projects to achieve a ‘new leap’.
“In 2018 Shenghong people must have the spirit of ‘perseverence’ in the construction of some major projects like integration of refining and chemical and its supporting docks and storage areas, acrylonitrile technical reconstruction capacity expansion, and the first phase of product storage, forming a large platform for Shenghong to achieve a leapfrog development again.
“ 2. ‘Either Innovation or Falling into Decline’---making unremitting efforts to reformation and innovation to stimulate ‘new vitality’.
“Continue to implement innovation-driven strategies, improve innovation systems, treat quality improvement and efficiency increasement as the main target; to further transform business model to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises; to innovate staff incentive mechanism, providing promotion opportunities for staffs who are responsible for their work, and allow no place for those who are not responsible for their work. We must do away with equalitarianism and the practice of ‘having everyone eat from the same big pot’.
“ 3. ‘Conforming to the Times’---changing the mind and raising the management level to a ‘new step’.
“First, the company should take a scientific enterprise system as the basis and continuous innovations as the motivation, build a first-class management mode, realizing the overall promotion of the enterprise kernel. Second, the company should keenly grasp national policies, adjust development strategies at the right time, pursue the maximization of enterprise benefit and promote the upward and rapid development of the enterprise. Third, the company should try to build a high quality management system and create an enterprise form with clear indicators, complete policies, standard specifications, a clear division of rights and responsibilities, and a pleasant environment.
“ 4. ‘He, who is upright, acts without orders; He, who is not upright, does not act with the orders’---keeping the faith, building core value and setting up ‘new atmosphere’.
“ ’When the wood increases, the fire flourishes; When the river rises, the boat floats higher’. Only all Shenghong people pursue progress and devote themselves to the enterprise can the enterprise and individual staffs become an integral whole with a common destiny. The company should tighten institutional constraints and construction of a clean administration culture, adopt every possible means, tough and soft, to make the atmosphere in the company clean and full of ‘positive energy’, promoting the enterprise to have a steady and long-term development.
“5. ‘Security is lifeblood; environmental protection is responsibility’---insisting on green development, putting strict control on security and environment protection and making explicit ‘new standard’.
“As to the hidden dangers of safety and environmental protection found, we must never have the idea of ‘wait for a moment and lay aside the matter for the time being’, and must speak of no condition, make no ‘discount’, and allow no flexibility as to the handling of these dangers. In the new year, the company should build a safe and green production system with higher standards to ensure the long-term safety of the enterprise.”
“Mountains and rivers are not far, just within the heart; the ground is not far, just under the feet”. Chairman Miao Hangen encouraged all employees of Shenghong Petrochemical Group to seize opportunities and work hard in 2018 to create more new great legends of Shenghong in the economic tide of the new era.
At the meeting, heads of sunsidiary companies made the 2017 annual work summary and the 2018 annual work report, retrospectively analyzing the development achievements reached by the company in 2017, and putting forward specific and scientific plans for the work of the new year. The meeting commended the advanced groups and individuals on all fonts in production and construction in 2017.
Afterwards, the Spring Celebrating Party was kicked off in the dance “Blossoms in a Flourishing Age”. The company’s employees showed their talents and performed various wonderful entertainment programs. The Spring Celebrating Party reached several climaxes with applauses and cheers. Splendid achievements had been made in the last year and further progresses will be made in the new year. In 2018, let us not forget our very begining minds and overcome difficulties to walk forward!
